Kinda Serrano-Creese, LMSW

Kinda Serrano-Creese, LMSW, received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and later, at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, where she lived for 2 years.  She was previously a registered nurse and has experience working with diverse populations across various healthcare industry settings.  As a result, she has acquired skills that have proven to be both useful and transferable. Kinda first fell in love with social work after working as a Therapeutic Camp Counselor for children with emotional and behavioral problems.  She currently will be working with adult clients creating a safe, warm, welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel free to express themselves.

A strong proponent of maintaining one’s mental health and well-being, she specializes in supporting individuals through challenges related to relationships, self-esteem, life transitions, anxiety, and depression.

Kinda uses a psychodynamic approach to help her clients explore how past experiences may be influencing the present and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

Kinda works with her clients to help them develop new ways of thinking and healthier coping mechanisms.  She likes to empower her clients so that they can overcome obstacles and prevail.

In her free time, Kinda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, interior home decorating, creative writing and sketching.
