Lisa Hedrick, LCSW-C, CBIS

Lisa Hedrick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Brain Injury Specialist with over 18+yrs combined experience providing counseling and support to the brain injury population, and 10yrs providing counseling to the military and SOF community. She is a trauma-informed therapist and is certified in EMDR. She holds licenses in MD, VA, and DC.

Lisa started her career in brain injury at Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockville, Md where she became a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) and led a brain injury social worker for families and individuals. Because of her passion for this population, she became a member of Brain Injury Association of Maryland and served on the board.

Lisa also worked for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Clinic (DVBIC) and the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Her experience at NICoE led her to become part of the Preservation of the Force and Family Team (POTFF), where she was an embedded mental health provider within the SOF community in the Nation’s Capital.

Lisa saw the need for therapy for the brain injury population as well as the military population and her passion for helping these populations, as well as others, has driven her to obtain the training and expertise to do so. In addition, she currently works full-time with the Metropolitan Police EAP program in DC and provides crisis response, debriefs, and counseling to the Metropolitan Police Department, working only with DC police officers and their spouses. Lisa uses a variety of techniques with her clients, which include EMDR, somatic processing, attachment, and parts therapy.

As an approved supervisor, she also provides training and supervision for our other team members of First Line Counseling and is helping us become even more supportive of our clients.
