Matthew Shure works with adults and teens, 13 years and older. He completed his final year of his Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s Degree program at Liberty University and interned with First Line Counseling in 2023. He received his bachelor’s degree in 2019 from Loyola University Maryland. Matthew just completed a year-long internship at Adolescent and Young Adult Advocates, where he worked with young adults suffering from substance abuse disorders. Matthew has experience with both individual and group counseling. Matthew has found that his passion is working with teens and young adults through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He works to identify thought and behavioral patterns while exploring options to replace negative habits with healthier habits. He enjoys helping clients on their journey toward recovery.
Prior to his time counseling, Matthew worked at an after-school program in Rockville, Maryland where he supervised elementary school children while creating lessons and activities for them. He has experience delivering high-level tennis instruction to both adolescents and adults through various tennis clubs. Matthew’s diverse background in working with young adults and adolescents allows him to connect with young clients and help them navigate their own unique situations.
Matt will be joining First Line Counseling approximately, March of 2024.
