In 2014, Rebecca was invited to participate in the Global Mental Health: Trauma and Recovery Certificate Program through the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, a 10-month program, with faculty who are trauma specialists from around the world. She recently spent two years providing therapeutic services with veterans living overseas.
Additionally, Rebecca has over 20 years of experience working in the field of emergency management. She served at the American Red Cross in Greater New York and the New York City Emergency Management and has served for many years as a consultant. She has responded to numerous emergencies and federally declared disasters and has targeted her work on ensuring that emergency management programs and services are diverse, equitable, and inclusive. She comes from a family of firefighters, so she understands the unique culture and tremendous impact that first responder work has on individuals and families.
Rebecca recently relocated to Maryland with her family. She previously lived in New York but has spent the last three years living in Panama. She’s excited to explore the DMV and always seeks opportunities to be immersed in nature.
